The inaugural issue of the "Competition Newsletter," which aims to highlight the main activities of the Turkish Competition Authority and share the significant experience gained over a period of more than 25 years, has been released on the official website of the Competition Authority. This issue covers the period from June 2023 to September 2023, featuring the decisions of concluded and newly initiated investigations, as well as interim measure decisions made by the Competition Board.
In this context, the first issue is divided into three main sections: "Concluded Investigations", "Newly Initiated Investigations" and "Interim Measures". Under the "Concluded Investigations" section, you will find subheadings such as: "1.1. The Board ordered Sahibinden, the dominant online listing platform for real estate and vehicle sale/rental, to port listing data of its business users", "1.2. Trendyol, Turkey’s Alibaba-held dominant multicategory e-marketplace, held liable for self preferencing", "1.3. Investigation into platforms for bus ticket sales market was terminated upon the commitments submitted", "1.4. The Board follows up adherence to the commitments given, as is the case with EssilorLuxottica", "1.5. The Board delved into gentlemen’s agreements in the labor market" and "1.6. Intervention in sellers’ prices and restriction of internet sales are on the Board’s radar".
The subheadings under the "Interim Measures" section are as follows: "3.1. The Board took interim measures on exclusivity agreements between Maçkolik and Nesine, the leading online betting and digital sports platform and the leading online betting company" and "3.2. Interim measures imposed on Krea were prolonged".
This new publication, titled "Competition Newsletter," will be published every three months.
